Twin Outboards to sell -question Sell as a PAIR or individual L and Rt rotation
I will be acquiring a boat with two EXTREMELY low hour Yamaha 225's, counter rotating, fresh water use.
These are early 90's oil injected - NON DFI
The hours can be verified by the engine CPU, but it is obvious visually anyways.
Question is, would I be better to sell as a pair as opposed to each motor - in my mind the Left Rotation would be an orphan, however there may be someone out there needing a lefty?
I would like to get enough money for the pair to modernize to a +/- 4yr old DFI or Fourstroke
Similarly the props which are stainless Cleavers left and right - I don't know for sure but based on the application and quick look they are probably 28 or 32p
BTW - when I am really ready, I will post in the motors for sale and all that.....

I just sold a set of 260's here and they sold pretty quick. List them as a pair and take offers on singles. Lefties will sell separate too if you have to go that route.
Congrats on the new toy!

Hard to say on the Yammi's.
The Hi Perf Mercs sell quick because of what they are. The fish motors not so much.
I had a pair of clean 3.0 EFI 225 Mercs that I couldn't give away.
When I had no takers at $5500. I said screw it and parted em.
Ended up netting $8300. that way.
Another time w/2.4 carby's I had to separate them.
My experience has been that the older they are, the harder they sell. VERY clean, low hour does make a big difference though.
The fische bote crowd love their Yammi's though so hopefully you'll get lucky.I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

Gentleman, do you think it is ok with forum rules to post these as for sale even though IT is still hypothetical?
i'd love to gauge interest, but don't want to rub anyone the wrong way.
