20 inch, 2.5 sport master Rh 1.87 swept skeg, welded cavation plate
I got a 20 inch sport master, Rh 1.87 gears, swept skeg, small shaft lower unit. The lower was perfect until the cavation plate broke. I had another lower unit and cut the cavation plate off that one and had it welded to the sportmaster. The lower shift greats and works perfect. Gear oil is very very clean. $1500 or best offer plus shipping I can send pictures. Best to mark 860 202 4683

There is no danger when it is the anti-ventilation fin that is welded.
The danger is when the skeg is welded.Lee Sanderson

im aware of whats what on these lowers Ive personally welded so many i dont remember them all, but its a site rule, as it says skeg or any other stress point if you leave the 3/8 boat out of the tail section it can break off i dont think it would cause any problems but who knows for sure

That's what happened. I left the bolt out by accident and it broke. I just put it on here figuring if someone was in a jam it would save them money or if someone had a mint case they could make 1 perfect one. If it is a big deal I will just leave the thing in the attic or throw it in the trash can.

My mistake.
I thought just one side of the fin broke off, not the whole rear section.Lee Sanderson
