Mercury Cleaver vs. ET
Best prop on the Euro this far is a 32P Lightning ET. I am thinking about purchasing / looking for a Mercury cleaver over the winter to try and squeeze that few extra MPH (after a lab job) when the ice melts. I am thinking of staying with the 32P like the ET. I talked to Mercury Racing and they indicated where I have a 225 Sport XS that the 3 blade - 32P in the 14.5" diameter would be beast... Any thoughts , any differences to expect in RPM?

I have owned two euros and soon getting my third. Great boats by the way! My first one i sold the 20 inch 96 260 and had jack cut it to a 15 inch for 2004 280 15 inch , props I had and used was 28 ET lab worked 30 Et my fav! 14.5 x32 cleaver and I had a new 14.75x34 lab cleaver for long runs by myself. These euros don't need much bow lift, the cleaver would bring the back up a little and on a windy day it would sometimes go to the side. I ran a 32 et once and good rpm at 105 but didn't push it as it was on the last boat that I bought to sell. But on the 280 me 185 pounds, a buddy 240 fat ass he was and his kid 135 half tank of gas with a 30 ET ran around 109.9 at 8100 rpm. Just watch the water pressure. Be safe.

I'm no expert, but I'll throw in my $.02.
On my Euro (2.5xs) I ran a 30ET, 32ET and a 34 cleaver.
The 30ET was what I ran the most and was the most fun. Great acceleration and topped out at 100mph on the limiter. Handled like it was on rails, planned very quick, hopped hardly at all and was just plain fun.
The 32ET was the best overall I guess, but acceleration was slower and took longer to get to 100mph, but it would top out at 102mph. Just not as fun to drive as the 30ET.
The 34 cleaver was the fastest, 105mph, but took forever to get there and wasn't quick to plane at all. I only ran it when top speed was the only thing I cared about. Once I got to my 105mph goal, I lost intertest in the cleaver and rarely used it.STV Euro 2.5XS -sold
