Palatka Toys for Tots
I see the Toys for Tots Marines boat run is coming up this weekend. Sounds like a lot of fun for not a lot of money. Does anyone have any recommendations.
Thanks,

There are people on this board who have had a lot of fun poking at Rus Matos, who puts this event on. They took issue with his charging something like $35.00 to provide an after party and band for one of his early events. I have done Toys for Tots twice, it is a great event, if it is like before at least two days of running in the St. Johns, which is beautiful, and lots of toys for a very legitimate cause. And, while I love River Ranch and have been there many times, at Toys for Tots you RUN, not sit around, but with lunch stops at very unique riverside venues at the turnaround each day.
Per Rock:
"Once I bought my first Hydrostream boating changed forever for me."
Per my hero Instigator:
"I try not to let common sense interfere w/my boat buying decisions."

Looks like a lot of fun but why not just post the info instead of these goofy cryptic threads? Every day from now until the event some brand new member will post asking about this run. Happens every year. I would go if I could the way they market it just seems sketchy.

Nothing wrong with a few donations but in 2004 b4 the RBR I was told if I didn't donate I couldn't attend! as a boat builder tryn to market n sell a few boats like a dummy I gave$ At my 1st rbr in 2003 n was promised t shirts with my logo n this that n the other.
Wich when I donated I saw nothing
nothing wrong with helping kids n giving toys as we all should do our part for the kids but I'm not letting a grown man pocket my $ for throwing a event

Best way to think of a Toys For Tots Run , is to just forget it's a Rus Matos Event !
Go , Enjoy the day on the water with Freinds and Family !
Bring some toys for the children who wound not have a Christmas , without these type of runs .
When you get to the Drop Off Point , if there is something that you don't feel right about . Just Don't Leave Your Toys , Drop them off at a local Toys For Tots , drop box in your own area , on your way home .
So Please , Keep the Children who need these gifts in mind , and Enjoy The Day Boating !
