Ok, so here is my update. My update is. well, not much will be updated for awhile. Well, deep thought there, umm, My winter cover was umm, not strong enough.
In the middle of winter you look at your boat with 3'+ snow on it. And a week or so later only a foot or so, maybe you should consider why the snow went away so quick. Well, That thought again, the snow did not go away, the dang wood structure collapsed.
Just recently it took me a few weeks to get the multiple layers of cover off to find the inner black poly slid off center allowing many gallons made there way into the tank area. I needed my wife's help to roll the black poly with it's own 15+ gallon iceberg out of the hull.
I have drain holes through the bulheads but it will be months before I can start playing with the balsa core. Oh well.

typical mother nature, not enough snow to ride the sleds all season but enough to ruin the next season! we've had a week of 80 weather hopefully you got some and that mess is dried up and workable! keep going, wish I had time to get at mine!

We did have quite a seasonal shift a week ago, This past weekend was our first aviation event of the many my wife and I host through a year and we were blessed with temps in the 70s, clear and calm. Would have been sweet to be on the water, but not in it yet. Last snow in our yard just melted away as well.
The iceburg in this hull melted away once once the warm arrived, the previous 40s weather the ice remained very persistent, we had little sun yet.
At this point the hull is drained but the exposed balsa will be quite some time until I want to work it and close it up.
As a distraction I am working to get the airplane I am building over to the airport first weekend in May for display at our first fly-in breakfast of the year.
