Newer Generation ECU. Different Timing Specs?
I have a 1991 Merc 200 XRi 0D014703. Some years ago the original ECU died, and the repair shop replaced it with a repaired ECU, PN 824003A 8.
At the risk of showing my ignorance, I hope you pro's can confirm for me whether or not the original timing specs remain applicable for this newer vintage ECU. The Merc service manual calls for the following timing:
Idle- 4 deg ATDC
Max 19 deg BTDC.
I know that the TPI setting for the original ECU was 0.135 V and the setting for the later model ECU is 0.250 V. Would the timing specs change too?
Many thanks for your support.
