1973 Tunnel Flite- info needed please help

Hi can anyone give me info on a good setup for this boat. I just picked this boat up recently for $800. Im planning on doing a full restoration. I was wondering what power one would recommend, prop setup as well as if i should just mount the motor to the transom or use a jackplate. Anyone have one of these boats/ info on there setup would be awesome, thanks.

What length? 17 ft? I've seen one with a OMC 140 on it bolted straight to the transom with it in the highest bolt hole. Couldn't tell you anything about the performance of that rig. Seems to me a OMC crossflow 235 V6 with a minimum set back jack plate would be a lot of fun.

Any light weight V6 would be great. I was just thinking of something period correct.
