Checking engine height...
Set the GoPro up on the boat yesterday to get an idea where the engine height was. I didn't try for max MPH, rather got up on top and made several passes up and down the lake at 60 MPH. I think engine needs to come up some more, like to know what some of you more knowledgeable folks think.
Boat is a 1977 Cobra Phantom bass boat, weight fully loaded is right at 1600lbs with 12 gallons fuel, all my gear, drinks, tool kit and my half a$$.

The cavitation plate (anti-ventilation plate) should be just skimming the water at the very lowest on a larger boat like my center console. You can go higher.

UP UP and AWAY!!
Had some time today so I spent a few minutes and raised the engine to it's max possible height. I gained 2 1/2" total. If this is too high I will use the hydraulic jackplate to just come down to where it should be. I hope to hit the water in the next day or so to see how this works out.
Thank everyone for the advice and suggestions.
