Fresh 225 Promax down on power

I bought a rebuilt .15 over 225 promax last fall. After my ginger break in period I've been trying to open it up and it doesn't want to pull past 5200rpm. My old 200 motor would pull much more with the same setup. It will only free rev to 6200, then it just seems to hit a wall.
    Plugs look good
Swapped switch box, stator and trigger off an old motor that I knew were good.
Timing is set at 8 and 23
    Fuel pressure is 38psi
Compression was almost all spot on at about 140lbs

I'm leaning toward possible ECU issue.
Since I don't have another 225 ecu to test, how dangerous is it to put my 200 promax ecu on it?

Also I'm not sure what tuner is in it. The tuner ran fine on my 200, so I wouldn't expect any different with this motor, but I could be wrong.

Could still having a somewhat rich oil mixture in the tank after breakin hold it back?

    TIA
    Jason

Read the pistons it might be on the lean side since displacement went up.

IMO a complete .015" overbore job on a stock motor will NOT effect motor fuel demand to need an ECU change I do them weekly. During rebuild was the injectors flow and calibrated ? I sometimes find if a motor lays over on the big end hit the choke/enrichener if it picks up its lean and fuel related. If it lays over worse its rich.

Another GENERAL trouble shoot path. If the motor is laying over at WOT attach a VERY smaller pitch prop that your normal one . If the motor pulls to the SAME RPM and fails as with your larger prop you have electrical issues as an electrical problem knows only an RPM to failure number ( say 5500 ) If its electrical it will fail at that rpm no matter what prop load. If it pulls past that 5500 rpm failure number with the smaller pitch wheel its fuel relates as fuell knows nothing BUT load to show failure.

Check your voltage : at above 1500 your 40 amp system should put out over 14 volts..

    Just a few hints...

Thanks for the help, Ill do some more testing. It is getting to 14 volts at higher rpms.

Jay, can he put his 200pm ecu on the 225 to see if the ecu is the problem? Leaning out is my concern, but if its a short burst it shouldn't hurt anything... right?

I'd pick a hot humid day to "try" the 200 ECU in a VERY short burst. The cooler and the less humidity the more the motor demands fuel. and "could" get lean..

Any thoughts on fuel compensation by unplugging the temp sensor? Still sounds like a gamble. Big thanks to the seller for sending me a spare ECU to try, and also trying to go though everything to get it figured out.

Im with you on the injectors. If the compressor was the cause of the rebuild and they didn't go through them might be cloged.

It has to be Injectors or ecm cause that's the only things we haven't changed.
