    Seastar pro steering

Just got in my used steering the box was open, just wondering what was lost, cylinder has a plate with center bolt in the middle, hose's, helm and one bottle of oil, went to seastar site looks like the adapter is missing that bolts to the front steering arm, merc 2.5 245, do I need it or does it replace the rod for dual steering? Just want everything ready when I start installing it, thanks in advance for the great help everyone always give

Here's a pic I took of some of the rigging I put into my boat. The helm is in the front with the steering ram in the back. It should have the side brackets and bar with it.

There is an aluminiun extender that comes with two bolts with specific torque. and a locking plate. you,d need that it goes at the end of the steering bracket of the engine

Is it the adapter kit that's one the seastar website? Or do I just bolt the cylinder where the steel arm should be

When it comes to filling the system with fluid I used a 1/4" pipe brass barb screwed into helm with clear hose connected to a funnel. Then I put tall clear cup in splash well with 1 inch of fluid in cup, then ran two clear hoses from both bleed fittings into cup. Then began filling funnel and rotating wheel. This way it wont let any air back into system through bleed fittings just don't let the funnel run out of fluid till its actuating fully both directions. Then close bleed fittings before removing hoses from cylinder. Then I left funnel hooked to helm with what fluid was left and rotated wheel all the way back and forth and you will see the remaining air bubbles running back up through clear hose to funnel do this till you see no more air. It was my first time and it worked great! Had less than a 1/8" of play, not quite textbook but it did the trick for me. I was kinda intimidated at first but after doing it this way it wasn't bad at all!
