Yamaha 70hp - 90hp Short Midsection Conversions / Purchase
Hi Guys. I'm interested in building a short shaft 3 cylinder Yamaha. Does anyone know if a conversion / modification is possible? Alternatively, I'd be interested in purchasing one if any around???

Late 80s early 90s commercial engine had a 15 inch midsection, real rare.

There's a few good threads on here about 70 and 90 Yamahas.
If you're going 70, do a search for 70 CES, if you're looking at a 90, sounds like the mariners from the 1980s are a good place to start for a short midsection.

New short mids are available. Won't do the original poster any good but you can get a short mid from suppliers. Mid is 6h3-45111-01-4D and apparently there's a factory driveshaft to adapt a small (40/50) gearcase to the 60/70 powerhead.
