    Mercury 2.5l port chamfer

I'm having my cylinders bored 0.030 over.. How should the machine shop treat the ports? Straight machine cut or chamfer them? I'm reading conflicting information. What do the expert rebuilders have to say?

    Engine is 1997 Mercury Sport Jet 175HP XR2 (2.5l)

    Thank you!
