Any glass suppliers have it. Under the vacuum bagging section.

I guess I confused that with something else. Does peel ply give a smooth shiny mirror-like surface?

No. It will give u a surface that doesnt need to be sanded and you can put more glass over without all the surface prep needed like when you put down a layer and let the resin dry to the air.

so how thick do the stringer knees need to be? i have the gas tank in the pics and one with a tape on it. i was thinking of cutting them back some to get the tank further back towards the transom.

i was thinking of cutting the knees back to about 8 inches from the transom. that would make them about 3 inches deep from the drain hole to where the knee starts to rise to go higher on the transom. but is that not enough?

I would say yes, 8" is enough. I have seen redone boats recently with less than that. My glass guy Chris and I actually measured and planed out 8" today would be good. I am going all the way up the transom though and going to tie into the splash well delete because I want to build a small sundeck/ hatch to access my tanks without having to pull my bench seat out. I am also thinking about putting in a pedestal base under the cushion so I can fish off the thing. That way I can claim it as a fishing boat and really poke at the bass boats around here.

Zstyle, I was gonna do that but figured an aluminum block up there would work too. Gonna add knees all the way up and tie into the top stringers that never touched the transom from the factory so that will help. Thanks for the reply!

Is it worth while to put another 2 stringers down the center of the core sections? They will not touch the bottom of the floor but was wondering if it would be functional or just added weight? They would only be about 1.5 inches tall.

Being that the boat is already built far better than what it was, I would say just added weight. The floors drop in so nice in the Vkings, I have to blend it in on my Vector, I just hope I don't miss cut a $60+ sheet of wood.
