ID:	299855I installed a remote power trim pump in order to supply the pressure for a JackPlate, the original pump failed.

My question is, There is a solenoid right under the pump ass'y with a RED wire. What is the purpose of this solenoid ??

    Thanks in advance.

I think it's a reverse lock out solenoid but am not sure how it would affect using the pump for a jack plate.

Here is a thread that is related to it.

I tried to activate the pump '' with and without '' and it didn't change anything...we will see with the load ( when the engine will be mounted up on the plate.

    Thanks luv2gofast

Be sure to use the high pressure side, for the up function. If I remember right it's the smaller size fitting of the two.

Thanks a million for the replies......

Now on another topic, there was a company that used to make a ''Wireless '' remote unit to control Power trim and Tilt for marine boats.

I am working on something that should work wonders, and not only it will control Power trim-and-Tilt but also the UP-or-DOWn of your hydraulic jackplate as well.

I received the components this thursday, finished the installation (wiring) during the week-end and the primary testings should be conducted within the next week or SO.

You WILL be able to remote (wirelessly) these items ( trim/tilt and Jack plate finctions ) with a simple thing. I promise.

Sounds like it may be ok for some, but I would be nervous flying 95+ in my Viking wireless, on a busy lake with a ton of stray signals roaming around.
