    Splashwell delete question

I have read many Hydrostream descriptions and noticed a lot of people mention a splahwell delete. I am curious if there is a specific reason to do this other than cosmetics.

Makes the transom much stronger. And splashwells were needed for the older motors that had the clamps that came over the top of the transom and CLAMPED to the inside. With all the newer motore they bolt completely to the rear of the boat.
