K&K Ghost Boats Making a Return?

For those of you who may not know, back in the 80's, and early 90's Kenny and Jeff Kalibat of Island Park New York essentially dominated the racing circuit. The, "Ghost Boats," they built were simply unmatched in speed, and handling. Unfortunately they stopped producing them many years ago, and never really sold many to the public. However a friend of mine who is close to the Kalibat family told me that the 3rd generation of Kalibats (their sons) are trying to recreate the ghost boats. I am personally very excited to hear this news as I was a huge fan of them in the past. I was just wondering what everyone else thinks of the possible return, and basically the recreation of a brand. If these boats are build how they're fathers built them, I think they may be the next best all around boat out there. These clips will explain everything.

I'd love to see Ghosts back racing! After 10 years of NO single engine OB racing, OPA offered class 7 last year. It has grown fast. There are 8-10 class 7 raceboats coming to Atlantic City June 21-22. Would love to see Ghost come back out to compete!

There were a few damaged after sandy, including what i remember was a 1 of 2 made 31?
the time to freshen up the molds and lay some glass was then.

if there was no interest in doing it after Sandy I cant see it happening at all.

Personally I would love to see them made again. With the economy, the boating industry and competition from other manufacturers, not so sure it could happen and be successful.

I owned a 23 flat deck that was rumored to be the very first consumer 23. Loved the boat, sold it because I figured I was going to break it bad. Sold it to a guy who gave it a sheltered lake life! I do miss it though.

While I think it would be great if they did start building them again..... I think it's unrealistic they they would. They already have a successful business over at k&k, why take the potential losses on a business proposition that has a low probability of succeeding? Seems to me like they walked away from it because it didn't have long term potential, why go back?
