2.4 EFI runs then shuts down for 30 mins then starts again.

2.4 EFI Runs great up to 7000 rpms then; brought down to idle; shuts down for approx. 30mins. then starts and runs again fine.

This has repeated on two occasions.


Anyone have the same issue or know what causes this?

You need to see if it's spark or fuel related. My guess is spark and probably stator. An easy way to check is with a timing light or pull a plug and hold it against the head and check for spark. If you are holding the plug against the head try to do it from inside the boat. If you are standing in the water and the connection from the plug to the head is not good you will get a surprise...
