Removing paint that's over top of gel
Well previous owner must have had a thing about mayhem..
Looks like some is coming off.. Any suggestions

Glen we find that oven cleaner works well. Got to experiment with how long you leave it on.

Hmm mike do you guys detail like wet sand buff and polish?
If not Do you know somewhere that does? I'm planning on ripping all the carpet out and all the old rigging before dropping this off..

If the boat has been buffed,after that paint was put on.The letters will show after the paint is gone.The gell under the paint will be be higher,and really show in the sun.

Make a paste with compound and acetone and just rub till its gone / or use easy off oven cleaner. a light wetsand and buff should make everything lay flat after paint is gone.

Good body man would sand the sucker off in about 30 seconds . Then cut and buff the whole top so it does not show the different gel heights from having paint on it . Gel coat is awesome stuff if you know how to work it ,
