    Trailer bunks

    Hi All,
Thinking of replacing my trailer bunks on my 17ft fibreglass bass boat. I do not want to use carpet, any ideas on a better option?

Yup Overtons or West marine (if I remember rite) have plastic covers for 2x6 bunks that are slick for easy launchin and haulin. I have them on one of my trailers and they work great. Hope this helps. BTW Welcome to S&F truly the BEST boatin site! Gary

    Thanks Gary,
I have had a look on the Overton's website & are unsure of which slides you are talking about.
I live in Australia & will need to get them shipped over here, so need to order the right slides.
    Are there any other alternatives?
    cheers

I launch at a shallow ramp, which ones are the slipperiest? & less wearing on the boat.

I like the 2x6 plastic covers do to the less weight per sq in on them . All the plastic bunk covers and strips I have used have worked better than carpet. Gary

Will the plastic tear up the bottom or wear faster?

I am almost possitive that the bunk covers I have were made with teflon so I have not seen any damage to my hulls and they work far better than carpet. Gary
