    2014 supercross season

anyone following this years supercross? excellent racing this year, R V has the lead in points , Dungey & Stewart 35 & 36 points behind BUT, Stewart has won the last 3 races & is schooling everyone including R V! seems that Stewart has FINALLY matured into the pro that he should have become a few years ago & is riding hard & not crashing.he has just won his 50th race ,seccond only to Jeromy McGrath who has 72 wins .an exciting season so far , who will win this year ??

Kinda fun to see the kids now as my old days racing a 74 Honda CR250? Try 4 inch back, 6 front.."suspension!".

Damn bikes now are so .."Refined", its scary! I look the new rides now with seats so damn tall, need a step ladder to get on! Plus the motors? Remember when a friend bought a brand new Yammy Enduro. Think about early 80's, 250 4s. Lived a new subdivision, no cops yet roads. Less that 20 miles on it I took it out, and thought like my old Elsinore..(on off switch motor!). My problem was I nailed it until..(THOUGHT?)..power comes in, lay off a bit? HA!. SUCKER HAD SOLID TORQUE! Sucker took off faster than me to hang on, and I lost it, front wheel in the air and a "crash it". Good old Billy said..(died of battling cancer 20 years, and one the best friends known..even rode his street bike..(Venture) to Mayo Clinic for the dreaded "C" treatment...almost had his own room "booked". Anyway after I crashed the bike? After saying me .."whoops, sorry dude!". He said to me..."no problem as I know a little more what NOT to do, FIRST! I'll probably crash it soon anyway! . Dude was a master snow skier, all around great friend. Off subject, but VERY relevant to me. Billy would always say..(the old school Abbott and Costello skit.."who's on first"). Well be it the ski club, or any bar? Someone say
"I don't know"..we would both yell out "THIRD BASE!?
Life is work, but a lotta fun too, and "friends", make it perfect! (Whos on first?.."I don't know and don't give a damn!.."THIRD BASE!..Rip Billy boy...sorely missed old friend...

We went to the St. Louis race. Nobody could touch Stewart and rv looked like he was riding for points. Hope Reed Gets back in before the end of the season. Most talent that I have seen in a long time. There 10 guys that can win if there on that day

I haven't been following closely this year. They're coming to NJ in 2 weeks for the first time in 30 years. Can't wait to go!

Watched today them in NJ. RV took it, and will wear the #1 plate 2015 season. Stewart jammed his knee, didn't finish the race.

Got to go in person for the first time. Pretty awesome. Getting into the garage area after the race and congratulating RV in person wasn't bad either.

Definitely going again next year. Tickets go on sale soon.

Now thats cool! Damn, I'll tell ya right now..these "kids", are amazing!

And that was a rained on muddy track..plus the "ditch" one turn..not getting enough speed up to "do a triple". I raced Motos/ice winter back Illinois back in the 70's. Loved the "Flat Trackers"..C class HD with the "Twingles". Remember long ago when Chris Carr was still a rookie. The "Springer" was a good friend him. Well, I caught up him in the "john", us gotta whizz. Said to him..."when ya goona get that "rookie" part off ya, and get a "Pro", license?

Told me "tonight dude, tonite in the final". Yep, he kicked all azz any other!

But on the subject Super Cross there? RV was "FEARLESS". First out the gate, first the finish. Sad that Stewart jammed his knee, and had to quit. That kid is goona be #1 someday

We do some flat tracking on the lake here in the winter. Lots of fun and a little less dangerous than flying through the air like the mx guys do. Of course my phone was dead so I couldn't get any pics but RV was in a rush to get back to his trailer so I just congratulated him and got out of his way.
