    Converting a 135 optimax to a carbed motor

    What has to be or can this be done. Fuel rail got a few cracks in it from what I was told. Motor was given to me. If I'm thinking and looking at it right it is a 2.5. Just wandering if it is worth converting or just good for parts. Thanks

    1987 Hydrostream vking yt with 1987 prov 150 yamaha 85mph (sold)
    1999 mirage ski racer with same yamaha 95mph with 19?? 2.4 merc 200 96mph with 2005 2.5xs no top speed never ran a prop bigger than a 24 but got 76mph with it (sold)
    2005 tahoe 215 I/o 4.3 v6 51mph

    Crank Rods Block,,,,,sell the rest.......Even the Hood/pan is different offset.

    Carbs/intake/bleed system/cylinder heads/ top cap and ignition. I have a 150 that crapped a compressor/air injectors I got for free. Ground off the hats on the pistons by hand . I think the only money I have spent on it so far was for a used set of standard style o ring heads. The rest in stuff I had laying around.

    I have a 2.4 that blew will any parts off of it work such as carbs intake ignition

    Only if you keep the injection. 1/4 to half the air comes from it. The bypass / intake has no where near the flow without the Added air from the orbital dfi system.

    Please explain this?? Are you saying 1/2 of the motors air is coming through the air injectors and air pump?

    I would like to know more also. I have a 200xs that's missing a bunch of pats etc if I put carbs on it would it make anywhere near 200hp?

    I can't remember if it was here or somewhere else where I was told you could supercharge an optimax through the air injectors. At any rate it'll cost me under 200 bucks to see how it runs. When I get bored again I'll put the degree wheel on it and see where the ports are.
