I am back filling with resin but its so hard that the areas where resin and balsa are side by side they wont sand sown evenly together. Just wondering if I use bondo to fill in the low spots then shape it all then a final layer of ester and mat would be good or will the bondo crack and make cracks thru the mat and paint once finished. The way it is rite now I 275#s can sit on the deck and it not creek or flex too much. And will be a lot stiffer after the top layer of glass.

Resin mixed with q-cell will sand easy. Use a grinder to cut down the hard resin hi spots you have, and then use the q-cell to fair out. Leave it a little low for the glass to fill last 1/8'' or so. Fair with a good vinyl filler and prime.

While I was removing the floatation from the boat I started debating if I should cut this inner part of the drop down skirt off flush with the top part of the upper cap. It would make the removal of the floatation box much easier. But dont want to be gone and wish it was there once I get the seats in... what do you think?

Vectors don`t have it so why should the Viking? My only thought on why it`s there would be the length of the boat. Did they do this for support or styling? I think i would find a Vector and measure from the dash to the back seat support then compare with your Viking before cutting.

My Vulture doesnt have them either and I see no evidence of them being cut out of mine and the Vulture is like 2 feet longer (20 foot) then the VKing.

On the comp models, they are bolted to the stringer with two quarter inch bolts,it keeps top deck from flexing in rough water and cracking in the corner of the dash.

I like them being in mine. Give a little more style to the interior. Def help to support the deck. I added some foam core to mine to make them stiffer.

Spent the day cutting out the floatation boxes. And sprayed primer on the rear deck to get a better view of where to shape it a bit more. Sure does make the high and low spots show up better being all the same color now

Im debating on if I should put small 3" stringers in where the foam boxes were at. Or leave it all open and "cleaner" looking.

    What yall think?
