Took the weights off and it set pretty good, 2 1/4" dip from side to side. But will be a full 3" when I shape the balsa down in the middle.
made a front bulkhead for the rear deck also.

Glued some 1/4" balsa to the upper side wings a few days ago and started shaping them into the concave of the two lower wings. Started out using a hand planer to get rid of the bulk of the balsa but it kept chiping up in chunks. I didnt soak the resin too deep to make the sanding a bit easier. But without the resin all the way thru it had to be sanded insteadn of power planed.

Afternseveral hours of sanding with a DA sander and a strait sander the concave of the upper wing is apparent.

Im not satisfied with the sculpting and sanding of the rear deck. Even using the strait flat sander the balsa sands down but the resin inbetween the squares dont and its all uneven and wavy. And on the outter edges where in building the contures and curves it is more dificult to sand both balsa and resin together to get it the shape I want. So im wondering if I use Bondo to get the shape I want then lay mat on top of it all then another coat of vinylester to top it all off before paint? Or is this not a good idea?

I would get a more premium filler like Evercoat, but I don't see why why this wouldn't work.

I would ruff shape it with a grinder, fill back with resin mixed with Q-cells and finish the shape. Cover with your glass of choice....
