OK Lasse— i am ALWAYS nice — even when it seems like I’m not . Again i have to disagree with you !!! That is not a PERFECT PICTURE OF THE KARELSON. It is however , a good picture of an EVINRUDE V8— i do have an even better of the V8 from the OMC advertising archives , which is the one i have been using to cobble the motor for the record boat .
Your picture does show a lot of detail of the rear end of the boat . Now if i was a model maker [which i am not], it would be of infinite value as it is a good picture of PART of the boat !
To fernagle a GREAT concept, not simply a GOOD concept , i do require clear pictures of ALL aspects of the craft i am working on.
Take the motor for example —its not a model, merely a concept of the model , but it must bear a resemblance of the original and can be recognised as such.
For instance—the observer must be able to differentiate between the worlds best selling V6 Mercury and the limited production run of the V8 JONRUDE. [OK ,i apologise for that Lasse, but its only what you have been doing for years, and im just an ex something or other , whilst you ARE AN AMBASSADOR.]
Just to be clear on pictures —i like to have —frontal—-rear and side views ,, with an aerial view the full length of the craft if possible. That way i can get the proportions about right . Gives me a bit of artists licence .
Started out by making the first Karelson/EVINRUDE record boat for the Pilgrim [POWERABOUT]. Then realised i could do better—— so i made number two, [which is better of course] .
Which led to me to thinking i could make something pretty damn good. So i have —-number three — it is FECKIN OUTSTANDING !!!!!!!!!
I am trying to get it to Havasu —-so they can auction it off— along with A MAN CALLED MERT—- and th EDDIE RICKENBACHER BI-PLANE.
Was hoping to get there myself and take them in my suitcase —- but it doesn’t seem i can get there due to draconian quarantine measure imposed by my government, even though i have had both jabs with a third imminent.
You have to Understand my friend , As a curmudgeon — I have earned the right to be contentious—grumpy— billigerent and simply awkward [if and when i feel the need]

NO promises Lasse —— but i will see what i can do —- like i told you before , i don’t do MODELS !!
    ONLY CONCEPTS .
Ted Boyd and Gene Langham both have „“CONCEPTS „ of the REDBIRD wing .
Jim Hunt has an Allison .
Mike Butler Has a Twister ——- Ron Hill Has a Jones —. Odell Lewis has a Bertram——. Christian Toll has a DRY MARTINI——AEROMARINE 1V. AND BETTY COOKS KAAMA. Some of the concepts i have made wound up in high places .
I enjoy doing concepts —- challenge of not seeing the joint so to speak .
It does keep the hands moving and the mind active —- stops dementure in it‘s tracks —- and makes me unbearable I’m told .

Sorry ‚bout that—-seems i posted my reply a tad early.

HASN‘T gone down much yet Fuji—- but it was only Friday, early am that i dropped the i pad on it. Has gone some wonderful rainbow colours —-blues -yellow and a great shade of purple . Means i have to spend more time in the swivel chair i have in the shop.
As Michael Caine so famously stated —I GOT AN IDEA !!!!!!! An old acquaintance of mine once gave me a very good BURGESS hull , where he got it from i have no idea. I will dig it out this morning and see if i can cobble a concept for Lasse !

After working my nuts off diligently through the night , i came up with this—- its a cobblemental concept of Lassie‘s Burgess . Still have the amazing ability TO MAKE SOMETHING HAPPEN !!!! [when the need arises].
Well—i did make the mount ——[ J.R.W. MOUNTS ARE BECOMING VERY DESIRABLE]. And the powerhead‘s not too shabby either !!!! It is an old gearcase i had discarded .
Five bladed wheel is quite unique —not many of those about these days !
Don‘t doubt Lasse will come bounding in like a long dog if he doesn‘t think its up to muster !!!
While i dont actually lie — i have been known to exaggerate just a tad —- some may say“ stretch the truth a little“ ????

Hi Jackie...I'm glad you found a good use for this as I had visions of it ending up as a doorstop in "supershed"......I found it at a collectors fair in Bristol not too far from the Docks as it happens...The seller said his son worked at the University of the West of England, the model was used in the wind tunnel during a research project...I can't think of a more fitting place for it to end up than with Lasse & Carina.....Regards Phill..

There was me thinking i could get away with all my own efforts—-now you have gone and blown the whole deal Phil. It came out of a bucket —- is solid resin — no fibreglass anywhere and weighs in at over ten pounds . Before i even start mounting it on a french boule and chucking a four pound all aluminium JONRUDE on its bum. It’s closer to twenty ponds now —- postage will be a nightmare.
It‘s a lot more accurate „“MODEL“ than i would ever have done , but dont worry —i will charge Lasse top brick off the chimney anyway.
Which reminds me Lasse still owes me a dinner — i bought him dinner in Tavares eight years ago. [ i never forget where my next meal could come from]

The three Karelson Record boats are coming along fine . I‘m still hoping for some decent artwork—just to help them along.

Poorly Hoof is still bloody painful—— do not drop an iPad onto the right angle —it will do you no good at all. Been five days and four restless nights with very little improvement , makes me a tad grouchy .
