Bill brown was one of the three people that started „“COSWORTH ENGINEERING“ . KEITH DUCKWORTH and MIKE COSTAIN were the other two.
Bill and i put together the first Cosworth 2 litre BDG Miles Tunnel with an ALPHA 1 leg.
Was supposed to be a 50/50 arrangement both cost and seat time . This fell apart at the seams when Bill got the CARLSBERG sponsorship deal and promptly dumped me .
It was a somewhat strained relationship after that— especially when he ran over the top of me at Windermere .
He had long since left Cosworths , when Keith Duckworth and Mike COSTAIN put together the Cosworth DFV 3litre Project.
Bill lost the Carlesberg deal to Bob Spalding —— when Bob went to Mercury USA — Roger Jenkins then picked up the deal.
Bill built an alloy boat with changeable sponsons — leaked like a sieve — DIDNT run worth a lick.
He went into obscurity after that !

Ah well the best laid plans of mice and men an all that Jazz.
This is THE HILTON in my little village. Where i was going to have my 90th birthday bash. Buggers have put it up for sale.
No wonder really. They are building a new A27 bypass around arundel and have nicked half the estate .
Golf course is going and they sold off part of the old course to developers .
It‘s an ill wind and all that.

You know when you work on something —but it doesn’t seem to be working . Happened to me with the first two MERTS. Never seemed to shape up the way i wanted . Afraid i had to bin the first two attempts . Here‘s the last effort . It just clicked from the word go — felt right . Lot less effort went into it , but i was able to put my idea into practice .
Ok, so its the one that never was , the three piper , doesn’t matter i can do the single pipe as the number one „“A MAN CALLED MERT“—-other two can be just MERT‘S.
was going to be just a weeks work—- but what you think and reality are uneasy bedmates !!! So its taken a month up to now—— what the hell else would i be doing???????
have a few days free— going nowhere and nobody expected . All things being equal i should get all three concepts done — whether or not that happens or not remains to be seen . I‘ll let you know .

Other side of the coin is our garden—- i do like to see some colour and variation in the small garden we have. These geraniums are outside the front door .
SUPERSHED has blended into the garden well—- even though it‘s only three months since we bought the place —- looks like we‘ve ben here for years already.
