Many thanks Crisis—- much appreciated, I’ll learn one day —— I’ve got some more to post today—— but only if the reception warrants it——- but I’m not posting all this information for the benefit of my health—- so we’ll see what transpires.
Maybe I should post big boobed — long legged blondes —— that would get their attention and the Click image for larger version.

On reflection, Tricks site is for all the old farts to tell what they’re up to, or used to get up to during their lifetime.

Funny how it’s gone the full cycle—— now Mercury make the V8’s—- and get all the publicity !
Havent heard of a JOHNSON being made—- anybody out there know ?
Is there such a thing as Auntie Evinrude any more
I remember Timmy SEEBOLD running one of Veldens old motors in the USA series for Greg Jacobson—— but not for long. Did it ever win anything?—— even a heat ?
Here’ s raising a glass to Lasse—— large malt of course. Afraid I never was much of a Stella drinker!
...understand & agree Jackie. I just keep think'in of all the work...the money...the racing...the research & development..the blood, sweat & tears...that "everyone" & their families, put into Evinrude & Johnson over the decades...and to what end? Complete Bankruptcy. Completely out of business. What a waste it all was. This is what I think of, everytime I view that stuff. Not how cool the pics are. that's just me. you can't appreciate the monumental feeling of loss of something like this, unless you have personally been through it.

From memory only Pilgrim—— I think the first time we raced there was ‘86—- my son Mark won the race—- JONESY led all the way to the penultimate lap but got tired—- he was in full TIGER BEER colours—- Mark was racing for BARDGROVE——- but my memory’s shot—— what do I know!
If you ever get the chance, read THE IRON FIST——- life of Carl Keikhaefer really—— when CHARLIE and Carl were friends!
Birth of the stern drive—— ???
Once went to dinner with Charlie and Anne Strang and Pruett——- he recommends the alligator—— loved a joke.
have some wonderful friends out of the OMC camp—- always loved their “Shrimp Bake”!
The cost of the Pro1 venture was simply unsustainable—— millions spent—- millions wasted—— OMC should be right up there at the top of the outboard world—- with the V8 market what it is today—- instead they’re long forgotten in the graveyard of outboards history !

Funny how we don’t see the name JOHNSON OUTBOARDS any more—- understand somebody took over the EVINRUDE OUTBOARDS brand ——- but it looks to me like the name is slowly dying.
Very rare I go to a boat show these days or even buy a boating magazine—— only time I ever see the name is on Lasse’s Facts thread——- and then it’s mostly forty year old pics from the past for the umpteenth time.
Suppose if you’re dead and buried, it does no harm to rear up and be remembered occasionally.
especially seeing as how it’s Halloween——
You do a good job Lasse—— but I’m afraid it’s like sending your last soldier standing to face the cannon wielding enemy with a longbow.
Irony of all this is the fact the F1 series for 2020 will be powered by V8 MERCURY POWER.
Guess OMC “Peaked” too early—— was all wore out long before the main battle started.

I don’t doubt for a minute I’m going to get a coating from ROTORY JOHN SHELDON—— LASSE STROM and JOHN SHUBERT at the old farts meeting in Tavares—— as long as we walk away still firm friends, I won’t mind.

Just read Lassies facts site ——- very detailed explanation of where auntie Evinrude went.Agree with you pilgrim, it’s very sad, —- but it’s the way of the world unfortunately .
There are a couple of shots of present day Evinrudes ——- thats compared to the dozen piccies of 1984 Jonrudes? And I’ve seen each one of those at least ten times ?—— all of which are well over thirty years old? Seems to be working for Lasse though.
Must post some more of the FONDA fixture lists—— there’s a lot of them —— all the way up to 1993.
England got spanked by The Springboks—— Manchester United and Southampton both lost—-it’s been chucking it down all day and looks set to be the same tomorrow.
With a bit of luck I’ll get down to see Ian Toll and the “Three Graces” next Tuesday—— week after that I’m away to the USA for a couple of weeks.
Taking a trip to Daytona to watch some vintage car racing.
Then to Tavares to see some vintage race boats and the annual OFF meeting—— catch up with a bunch of old friends and tell lies.
Going to Englewood to watch the last offshore race of this year the week after Tavares .
Should get a few days with Mark and Craig to finish off my two weeks vacation.
Dont get to see the AMERICAN side of the family much these days —- nobody’s got time anymore —- everyone is trying to make a living !
Went to the ANCHOR at Ringmer for lunch with a couple of friends—- good food—- old fashioned pub.

If I’m lucky, I’ll get a full day in the shop—— would be nice to get a couple of the rollers totally finished.
have to get the pair ready for Tavares anyway.
Might be a bit late to ship out Gary Strays and Scottie B’s before I leave!
Have just a week to get the shop in order —— then two days clearing up—no self respecting “concept concocteur” would leave a shop anything but shipshape and Bristol!

Well, the best laid plans of mice and men——- I did get a full morning in—— got the spare wheel mounted and a suitcase fitted to the running board.
Takes me a week to cobble a set of Ghost wheels—— no matter which but loose—- no way can I do a 1907 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost concept——under a month , they are numbered 1–10 —— every bit made by yours truly. No, they’re not cheap, but it’s the best push along car you could ever give to any kid,
Have thought about doing a pedal car when I get back from Tavares——- it will have to be a Rolls or a Bugatti—— problem is —— COST! I Cant see any way of fernagling one together under a a couple of grand. It’ll take me at least six months to finish it.
I have six of the rollers ready for sale—— they start at $500 ——- best one tops $850 —— only have room for two for Tavares.

Rich—— I’ll apologise now for mentioning this, but that’s it !!!
Theres this kid who just keeps on winning—— can’t drive worth a lick—— when he does it’s luck and the best car, never ability.
All his life he’s suffered the slings and arrows of outrageous fortunes—- the knockers—- the biased and the plain and simple folk who dislike colour.
In spite of all this , he managed to win five F1 world championships—— it wasn’t enough—— he still got the “lucky” tag!
Today I think the lad silenced his most vehement critics by winning his sixth world title.
Congratulations — only one more driver to pass—— then the world will HAVE to concede—— to the greatest driver of all time. LEWIS HAMILTON.

Tiger Beer sometimes had two boats running at Singapore——- both painted dark blue with white logos.
was usually JONESY that ran the number one boat—— think Steve Keaton ran for them one year——— he actually won it.
Parkinson has lots of pictures, but somehow can’t manage to send them to me on the dot dot—— last fixture list he sent me was overland, via Royal Mail.
Fujimo has lots of stateside piccies, very few of the European racers, unless they were racing in the states !

Lasse stated the 1991 series of F1 races were not Fonda——- they were—- UIM had handed the F1 title back to Parky but wanted it called the World F1 Championship—— make no mistake—— it was run by Parky and Fonda.
When Pro 1 went tits up in a hucking fuge way, it left the UIM and Fraulin in a verY embarrassing situation——— the only show in town was FONDA —— what to do???
They started by making life very uncomfortable for Parkinson and Fonda !!!!
Underhand and sneaky dealings were commonplace. Unfortunately David does not want to stir up a hornets nest with the UIM—— he wants a long and happy retirement.
He has asked me not to show any of the UIM correspondence which I have been privileged to peruse, so I will honour that request.
