We always had a terrific time at the OFF events we went to and met many wonderful ex boat racers.Caddilacs events were very good the boats were very near to the spectators so you had a good idea of the speeds the boats were running. What a wonderful character Steve Sirois was visted Mark Wilsons place at Stuart and the Guy next door with all the old cars and motorcycles collection Steve took us round for a visit he pointed out a triumph tiger cub which was his first bike he bought it with the prize money he won which Carl Kiekhaefer let him keep. steve, you will always be welcome at Caddy’s place and Marks——- never made any difference to me what FECKIN motor you had on the back——— and you’re right about STAVROS—- he was a wonderful man—- along with Bakos and Sutphen—— if you hadn’t been to the OFF meeting, you might never have known them!

If the "Canadians" includes Mark Rotharmel then there you have at least one OMC guy as Mark ran both Mercs and OMC's !!
If Mark is planning to come this this November I am going to try to come with him (and I ran both Merc and OMC as well).

It’s people that count once you join the Old Farts—— motors count for nothing at OFF—- all are treated equal.
Love all my “Colonial” friends——- American —- Canadian—- Australian—- Italian—-Finns Swedes and Danes, to me they’re ALL COLONIALS,

I’m one of those people that bank holidays don’t make any difference to——- they really are all the same to me. I don’t have to report for work and I long since stopped listening to anyone who tried to tell me I should do this or that—— especially my kids.
Not even worried about going a tad loopy—- but I do try and stretch the little grey cells to breaking—— crosswords—— projects——- Mastermind and university challenge——- but cannot stand the stupid TV quizzes with the ignorant peasants that participate.
Is it just me that despises the adverts on TV ? —— they must think the general public are mindless Morans with the animation and voiceovers they fob off on us these days under the guise of pretending to be clever!
Now I’ve got that off my chest, I feel so much better—- but I would be interested in other folks view on my he subject——— would appreciate your take on it if you have the time!

Went to a classic car show at Ford Aerodrome on Monday—— over 1,000 cars of one sort and another. Lots of American classics. I’ll post a few picks just to see if anybody’s interested.Click image for larger version.

Not just good Phill— it’s totally bloody brilliant —- best read I’ve had this year, I can recommend it to anyone who is literate .
I really did think there might have been a bit more interest than there is by the old farts—— but this is a boating site,

Came across an old couple who were selling a huge chandelier at the car boot sale last Saturday—- the whole thing suddenly rolled off the table on to the floor—— Crystals were everywhere—- I wound up paying a tenner for all the crystals that were on the floor.
Ive done all the acetylene lamps on two of the Rolls Royce Silver Ghost’s and only used twenty of them.
Enough left to do the other three—- Somedays you eat bear !

Ok out there—— some more piccies from the classic car show last Sunday—- see if these go down any better than the last lot!
Depending on the response —— I have more—- but they’ll stay in “photos” until I get a decent reply or three!.
In the meantime I need a bit of help rearranging piccies !

Was a beautiful day for the Cowes/Torquay race——- the old “Dry Martini” in the capable hands of Christian Toll gave a very good account of herself, finishing in third place.
Apparently there was thick fog off the Needles and the Sat Nav puked —- when the were running in second place.
Good effort Christian .Click image for larger version.
