No...no...no I only posted that one to give recognition to the mechanic. Sorry, but the internet is void of any color pictures of the 444. The mechanic, aka Gene Lanham, may be your only hope unless Midlife or Fuji come up with some from their vaults. By the way...19 and counting...
Sorry, Bob—is the search for ‘ color pictures of the Aeromarine III AND the 40’ NY boat?

We sold both these boats and they both went to ENGLAND. They were quickly repainted by their new owners—and lost their identity

I’m sure Jackie is aware the Aeromarine III has recently been purchased by his countryman Chrisian Toll—who will certainly restore the boat to the highest boat show standards!

The hull shape of that era of offshore raceboat reminds me some of scaled down WW2 PT Boats,is that a fair observation or am I imagining that?

Possibly-but the PT boats were nearly flat bottom boats—
I always say that Harry Schoell never gets enough credit—since the mid 60’s that bottom has been the most copied hull shape in boating history

1974--Charles Gill ---'I Like It Too'----

The boat continued its winning ways

Some are saying that hull won more Offshore Races than any boat in history??

Yes, but that is not what you asked for. I posted that as a credit to Gene (the mechanic). You wanted pictures of the 444 boat.

    This was your post:

Think I’ve seen twin Outboard— four outboards and both single and twin stern drives ?
Have you got a colour phoggie of ANY of the 444’s ?

All the 444 boats, and I think there were at least a half dozen----were Outboard Powered--(One with OMC's)--two engine; three engine; four engine--varied in length from 24' to 32'--

They all had the Harry Schoell bottom

Gene and Bobby Vee—- must apologise for the confusion—— put it down to a mix of stupidity— old age and over enthusiasm!
I got enough timber cut for five boats—-( about a third of the plank)

36’ Cigarette with four outboards !
    40’ Cigarette ( US1 ) With Twin Mercruisers !
?’ Cigarette with triple outboards !
?’ Cigarette with twin outboards !

Which of the above were ——444’s ?

Still leaves i billet—- just in case anyone forgot to mention something !

Just seen I forgot the Citicorp——— looks like I’m busy for the rest of January!

No apologies needed, Jackie. Your knowledge of Offshore far surpasses my knowledge of FONDA!

The original 444 was a 24' Magnum with two 1100's----(1967)

    Next--a 28' Magnum with three 1100's (1250's) 1967, 1968---

A 28' Magnum, Three 115's, The Only year Doc came up empty with a CHAMPIONSHIP--1969

---And a 32' Cary with four Super BP's--(not called a Cigarette because of $$$$$) 1970--

So glad you are using wood Jackie--

    The original was wood--the plug--

    Credit Harry Schoell---and Nicky Chapman

Over the years the boats have changed-- length; width; height--

But they are all the same boat!!

I'm sure each 'concept' will have its own character----
