Was running at 8000 rpm and 123 mph———- boat would lift its port sponson and wave to the crowd.
I tried many times to drive through it——- had the wing at every setting imaginable ——— took the wing off———— shifted weight——- nothing would let that boat run any more than 123.
Annoying thing is——- I could run at 10,000 rpm—— which would (theoretically) have given over 150—Just never managed it!
PS. I have never seen these pictures before——- can’t imagi where you unearthed them, thank you !

That was Billy Two Rivets Tin Carlsberg——- after he accidentally crossed the race line and sent my boat to the bottom of Windermere??

Looks to be an Alpha Drive upper with a Mercury outboard SpeedMaster number 4 drive lower, or?

Yup—— that’s the one with the detachable sponsons———- ran over the top of me as I was about to start the run——- neither boat ever ran again!
