never did make the wood shop down in deepest Somerset-----every road we went down for a couple of miles suddenly had a raging torrent one had to navigate or turn tail and try another route. Got really pissed off after a while and six U turns-----for a civilised country run by idiots England normally does quite well but the poor folk in Somerset have got right regally screwed.
Thought I was on Lake Ontario at one point, people are chucking a line out of their upstairs window and catching salmon for breakfast!!!!!
If anyone knows of a Florida swamp boat going cheap I'm sure some body in Somerset will bid good money for it.
Part of the fun when you reside in the UK are the "guess" roads-----guess if it's blocked, guess if it' s , flooded, guess if your going to get drowned ,.
Then when they do put up a "road impassable ", I bet you a pound to a pincha it will still be there in August, why the hell we get this massive influx of illegal immigrants to stay here is beyond my comprehension, give 'em a wet suit and a snorkel and send the buggers to Somerset. Believe me they won' stay long.
So I won't be posting any pics of burrs.

Morning Rich, back home and looking forward to a quiet but busy day in the workshop, farting about and doing what I love doing best, a bit of creativity.
Just remembered, you have a model boat you paid far too much for at one of the OFF auctions.
Was to raise money for the postage of "THE HAUSER TROPHY" which is still one of the largest pieces I ever did.
Most of the folk who read S&F will have read some of WILLABEE'S gleanings, here's a picture of him when he was a lovable youth,( before the crankiness took over, still think he looks like Don Ameche)

There's a real mix of motors in there, the boat is Renato's ( note the cut outs for the infamous brakes) with a silo stitched to it's rear, and the entourage working on it as always.
can't get high def with my iPad, so I don't even see the motor.
Renato had all sorts of secret sh-t in every corner of the shop-it could have been a LAMBERATIRARRI.

Had a crazy morning working like a demented Dervisher, band saw, planer, and my smoother were all hot by lunch time.
Don, your going to have to bear with me a bit here, this is a more or less conventional strato, but with a quite nice figuring.
this is stage one and all I want from you is a yes or no on the wood.
Will chamfer the edges to nothing, then you will see what the grain looks like.
have another lump just like this and am going to do a "WING" will have to hand carve this, so it will be a first, if you don't like it , Rich will, so it won't be wasted.
if you do like it you will just have to have a bigger cabinet and keep switching bodies.
the tool on top is my smoother I picked up in a flea market for $3, it's basically for finishing and tacking out saw marks

Spent the afternoon carving the arse out of the base, took a couple of shots of the rough, needs a lot of TLC before you see it's full potential.
Are we on the same wavelength Don? Or do I start the "WING"
