BILLY AND LYNNE SEEBOLDS YOUNGEST SON “LITTLE BILLY” had a series of strokes last weekend . BOTH Billy and Lynne flew up to see him in Denver Co. I spoke with Billy Sunday morning —- he looks like he’s been in a fight with Mike Tyson and lost . He could do with some of your prayers please . He is not coping that well.

Family & Friends the memories we share with them.

In this interview Nigel Mansell, F1 & Indy Champion, gets soft reflecting on his relationship with Colin Chapman.
A man who gave 70,000 pounds (probably in those days about 25 to 30 thousand dollars) to Mansell.
So, Mansell and his wife could buy a house.

"He's just like a dad" said Mansell.

Better are we all, when we have mentors and supporters in our lives.

However, Mansell the "Lion" also talks about his injuries from racing accidents and witnessing the horrible racing death of Gilles Villeneuve.

    would like them called —
    THE BOB SPALDING
    THE TOM PERCIVAL
    THE ROGER JENKINS
    THE NELLY GREGG
    THE JACKIE WILSON.
Reason for this is the fact we all raced together at Oulton Broad on many occasions, all of them were good friends —— only one i ever fell out with was Percy when i caught him measuring my boat.
Nelly was a shady car dealer who did a bit of porridge but Was a great personality and a much loved boat racer.
Jenks was a man who could talk the hind legs off a donkey. Was a very good racer and another friend of mine.
Bob was a good friend long before he ever became a racer — i like to think i helped shape him into a GREAT racer.
To my mind ,most trophies are crap——cups——plates and useless cigarette boxes that are of neither use nor ornament. [particularly the hideous four poster plastic monstrosities they give out in the states].
Continentals have always given half tidy decent trophies —- glass and silver in the main.
i would have given my best effort to winning a hand made motor boat trophy concept.
So— i have done five for the LOBMBC . After all —it is the oldest motor boat racing club in the world.
The only trophy that survived in our house, in the family's living room, was a trophy Dad won which had a Clock. So, my Mom permitted the trophy, with dual function - especially as a timekeeper, to be visibly placed in the living room.

I wonder will a Jackie' concept ever have a clock imbedded in the concept.

Never even thought of putting a clock in a concept !!!!!! Really accurate quartz comes out at $2 a pop these days but if i can find a really good clockwork movement i might be tempted.
Did have a lot of fun creating a concept for Gene —-was easy because he has done so many things.
Same again with the “MAX” trophy ——-spitfire pilot, power boat racer, rich-politician—-didnt have to think beyond the fringe .
AMIEE trophy again was something that just evolved —-she has been around Miles Jennings for so long i didn't even have to stop and think.just had to make it beautiful.
Garbrecht was a bit different—-but in the end the World record boat was the only way to go. Was me that introduced him to Bedford {Bud} Davie in the first place.
SIROIS TROPHY WOULD BE EASY——SO WOULD THE SEEBOLD —-THE JIMBO—-THE BENTZ—! THE MOLINARI ——THE PRUETT——
See if you can come up with a name and imagine a trophy that would suit.

Many-Many moons ago—- long before PONTIOUS was a Pilate—- i got Chris Hodges to build a mini tunnel boat for my daughter Kim. Took it up to IVER[LMBRC] where Len Britnell —the then Commodore told me to take it home as he would not allow it to race .
Keith Duckworth asked if he could buy it for his son Roger[he was 10 years old at the time] Year was 1978 and i had it painted in exactly the same colours as my Cosworth .
Had a 10hp Mercury on it;s bum —— Roger did not like it at all so Keith told he would show him how it was done . He jumped into the boat and immediately managed to turn the boat upside down [duckworth was a big lad] .
Clive Chapman [Colins son] and Roger Duckworth [Keith Duckworth’s boy} grew up together and raced junior boats together and are still friends to this day.
Last time i saw Roger was at the GOODWOOD FESTIVAL OF SPEED. He was racing a cosworth special
[what else} —— my daughter Sam sat alongside him for the last ride of the day .
Roger is deep into Electric Propulsion and has been for years .
    Just saying ————-

Original quote was “CLEANLINESS BREEDS GODLINESS”—-and i haven’t been an EMPLOYEE for over fifty years !!!!!!!!!!
Always try and keep a clean shop but enthusiasm —-creatability——limited ability and a dash of idleness add do not always make a clean workshop a viable reality !!!!! Just saying !!!!!
