LMBRC. LONDON MOTOR BOAT RACING CLUB—-IVER HEATH. Or CMBRC ——COTSWOLD MOTOR BOAT RACING CLUB at Fairford Gloucester.
Both clubs were ex-gravel pits with trees and had heavy foliage round them.
Both are long gone and have not been replaced ——-
LEN BRITNELL was Commandatore at London—and Charlie Sheppard was Commodore at Fairford .
I was Great friends with both in 1978, was only in the 90/s i fell out big time with Len at Stewartby after he SOLD TWO HOURS of free practice time to OMC during the World ON championships.
Charlie was one of the few people i never did fall out with, although we often had some fairly heated discussions—especially over Bristol !!!!!!
i was 46 years old when that picture was taken——- 45 years ago.“My—Time flies when you’re having fun”.

less Mr Bullen later in the day at Bristol did take the time and trouble explain the finer points of hull design and showed great patience answering my what have been inane questions.
    Just my 2 Pence worth......[/QUOTE]

Alfie knew every hood south of the Thames from MAD FRANKIE —to the KRAY TWINS—- Knew who to be near and who to leave well alone . All Alfs kids were and still are good friends with my kids , [could not wish for a nicer bunch].
Alfie always “sailed close to the wind”—- all his life —both here and in the states —- myself , i have done some great deals with him—-made a lot of money from those deals .
He was always close to the hierarchy at OMC and his circuit racing was mainly with JONRUDES whereas his offshore forages were mostly with Mercury.
In the USA, he got to KNOW GG at SECOND EFFORT—- had good times there but was eventually ASKED to leave by the FEDERALES.
We would do well to simply leave it at that—- ???!!!!!
Once asked Kevin and Andy if Alfie had anything to do with the disappearance of LORD LUCAN after the murder of the nanny but was told politely “NOT TO GO DOWN THAT ROAD” !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Magnolia tree finally blossoming. Usually lasts 6/8 weeks but a mix of frosty mornings and 60mph winds plays havoc . Lawn is covered in fallen blooms —looks like confetti after the dog and cats wedding.
Been fernagling ‘AMERICAN MAGIC ‘—- next years “AMERICAS CUP” BOAT !!!!!!!
Should be all white with a black sail. Almost of you know i do not do models —- so this is done in beautiful Burmese teak. [no, i will not be painting it any colour] and will be either beeswaxed or clear varnish. Could be on to a right spanking here - or it will be plain fecking brilliant, isn’t that what life’s all about ??????????

So the“AMERICAN MAGIC” was coming along famously [but slowly] . No hurry because its another full year before the actual event.
Decided i would make the effort and create a really stunning base to suit the hull. [this is the fifth] all was going well until i realised the lift up aero fins would not fit—-so tonight i twisted up an aluminum extension ——-Now they will fit .
Both the base and the hull are made out of some stunning timber—base is a teak seat from the IOW ferry which has been decommissioned.
Hull is some exotic Far Eastern hardwood —-did make the wooden spokeshaves sing out loud , carving the deck to some sort of similarity made my fingers bleed before i was satisfied .
Finish will be simply beeswax . Not yet up to muster , but when it gets there it will be a stunning effort.

Had a clutterfeck sort of day !!!!!
dismantled a polishing machine to find an inherent electrical fault —- coil was burned through— wasted two hours before binning it in frustration. All i have to do now is find another very quickly or convert one of my grinders . Lot of work and i should have looked for a solution sooner .
Have the basics done for the second americas cup boat —-pair of them stand up very well together .
Should have the pair finished by the end of next week.
Looks like a good turnout at Tavares this weekend ——sorry .but I wont be able to make it again.

Just because there’s no piccies on S + F does not mean I’ve been sat on my arse for days on end ..
Doctors surgery and hospital rooms are becoming quite familiar nowadays.
so far no one seems to know whether its the medication or the treatment of recent times Thats created a bit of a downturn in my ongoing condition.
Could be the old bastard carrying the scythe on his shoulder —dressed in a hood is getting quite friendly .!!!!!!!!
Then Jill fell awkwardly whilst walking INDY in the forest —- was three days before i took her to the hospital today for x ray and a scan. Appears nothings broken , just leaves a lot of pain.
All work is on the back burner for a day or two, simply too much machinery in the shop and i need to be on top of my game to use any of it!!
Soon as i get the motor fixed and up and running sweetly— i will .let you know,.
Do have a shed load of concepts—commissions — and rampant ideas on the go at this time —and i just bought a new polisher and a MILWAUKEE drill. Sold the B+D Drill and Rattle gun so i am also hunting ..

BEST NOT TO BE ANYWHERE NEAR SUPERSHED THESE DAYS.
LOOTS OF BLOOD -SWEAT- SNOT AND TEARS FLYING ABOUT .
as usual far too much going on for any five sane persons —let alone a half mad enthusiast concept builder who shouts loud profanities at the THEIVING leprechauns who frequent the place.
Do have a rather large project of four trophies for a certain race club [all will be revealed around easter]. Meantime-I have a doctors appointment.!!
