I always wondered what became of James, and where is he today

James Beard lost his battle with leukemia at a very early age i would guess around 1980 maybe he was in his late thirties.

That was KOO STARK — hair as black as the ace of spades though. Charles dumped her after she made a soft porn film. But she has kept her mouth shut for ever and never said a word. James was a good looking lad —had strong ties with the nobility —- Shand-Kydd and the Earl of Normanton and the likes .
James did put hisself about a bit !!!!!!

Think it only did the one race at Fairford —- very quick on the straight but simply flat refused to turn at any time . Jenks and Thorneywork tried everything … it had a very short life. Camel back stayed around for a while though.

This was Cougars new experimental design for 1977 the only race i ever saw it race was the 1977 Amsterdam 3hr grand prix which was always seriously rough when i passed James he was having a terrible ride the front of the boat bounced up the waves just like a V hull and the back half of this hull was a cat design it just followed i think he lasted about 1 hr before he submarined he won a prize for advanced design and it was really well finished Chris Hodges made a good job of it but i never saw it run again.

Many boat builders have come up with the next revolutionary design boat over the years. The problem was that they were pretty much just guessing. I got talked into testing a few of these designs and even racing one. These boats were mostly bad and a couple were just plain evil. When you are young, broke and trying to move up you take rides that you shouldn't. I finally decided that just because the builder is a good craftsman doesn't make him a good designer.

Numbers one and two of 2023— decided to number and date —then sign ALL concepts from now on in. Should make life a whole lot easier.
Temperature really dropped tonight —down to 27F— bloody cold —no sodding wonder i feel under the weather.
