Spot on Fuji——- Alpha with a number four———- Cosworth ironed all the bugs out of that——— built in a pressure gauge. Ran the whole of the Parker seven hours without a change.
That was largely due to the fact we couldn’t get the bloody thing off at the half way stage anyway!

Maxed out drive combo, to be sure. Nowadays, we would run all the hard parts through cryogenics to help. Either way, the aluminum housings are sure to go. The hydraulic steering cylinders always helps with sterndrive gimbal life.

So, it’s bin bound——— I’m pig sick of it——— if I don’t find one at the car boot tomorrow, I’ll buy anew one again. Nope—— never—— Whatever I felt like on the day. Craftsman——Snap On—- Pronto—— Bristol—-Elora—— Stanley—— Bedford. There’s a mix of everything in my shop.
To me, Snap On was always the over the top expensive one——- brilliant American marketing strategy where everybody gets rich at the expense of the consumer. !Lifetime guarantee ??? I never wore a hand tool out yet !
Based on the old Encyclopedia —- door to door selling ! Started with Bibles I think
Was just giving you an eg. of a big motor not working hard Pilgrim——- you have a good day now!

MAXED OUT FUJI ?——I think the problem was in the fact it was never “SORTED” at the factory in the first place !
It was all a bit sloppy at that time——- quality control was not at its best.
Cryogenics !!!!—— Now Thats one of those big words like helicopter and mayonnaise———- now we’re treading on dangerous ground here——- everything from bringing the dead back to life——- to micro laser technology and nitro inspection— all stuff way beyond my comprehension. I suppose all this new hype helps—— but will it never take the place of good sound engineering Fuji !

Quickie bottom ends were rare as rocking horse sh-t—— when I bought the Jones KT boat from GG, I managed to blag a spare gearcase complete. Kept schtum about this until I bought Roger Hooks Scimitar and put a brand fire new sterndrive, fitted to a new BDG ——- just popped on the gear case——— rang Rolla who did me a prop almost overnight and took off for Amsterdam. Before the start gun fired, that boat had never been in the water!
Without a doubt, the most fun race I ever had in my life———- at the start, the boat leapt out of the water pointing to heaven, ( I had far too much trim out) pissed all over all the works drivers, both OMC and Merc———— Renato stuffed it early on———- lapped Bill Brown ( He was running in the Miles/Cosworth). after twenty minutes, that was before he ran over John Hill who was running in the 850 class and sank them both.
Lost the last twenty minutes with a split water pipe that filled the boat and drowned the motor——— Chas Shooter did all the repairs and got us up and running——— won the next one and a half hour race!
Never did have a gearcase problem, so they weren’t that far out!

Many moons ago at one of my forages into the car boot sales at Ford——- I came across a 1:5 kw motor with a very strange device attached to the drive shaft. Turned out to be a hydraulic high pressure cleaning machine!
Dismantled the device———- turned up a new shaft——- cobbled a six inch disk ——- drilled and tapped the same——- was damn near perfectly balanced when I put it all together.
All I have to do is sort out the starting and I’ve made me a sander even I can’t wear out.
Havent worked out the tilt table yet, but I’m sure it’ll come to me eventually.
Found a beautiful keyless chuck——- Top make ( ALBRECHT ) IT
was bucket rusty through neglect, but came back just like new after an hours TLC .
Also found a couple of pieces of “LALIQUE”———- my youngest daughter Sam collects it——- cost me twenty quid but I bit the bullet.
Will post a piccie of the sander once I have it up and running— right now I hear the sandman!

Just woke up to see a dog fox pissing on my newly planted apple tree———- have a six foot fence all the way round the garden, couldn’t make out how the damned thing got in until it just leaped on the top of the fence and was gone! Ah well, nothing’s sacred.
Been looking at Rich Luhrs comments about “JESSE JAMES” on Facebook———— makes for some very interesting reading——— there’s always development going on in the offshore world.

Fired it up——- noisy cow——will have to pull the armature and check the bearings, just ran out of time today.Everything takes me so long these days, and even then, I don’t always get it right.

So, ABBA made a comeback——— after 35 years—— they can’t have run out of cash with all the royalties coming in. Wonder what made em do it?

Ben Ainsley did it again ——— Managed to spend £10,000,000 Sterling On Another America’s Cup contender.
Used to think the offshore fraternity spent crazy money. A Whole new world !

Took a lot of time over this boat ——- had Hodges simply Varnish the Boat——— Had Jeff Ridgeway do the artwork. Had the first wing out front——- with an electric wiper motor installed ——- I was able to alter the angle of dangle at will.
Sold the boat to John Nicholson who was going to install one of his hot McLaren 2 litre engines in it,——— he changed his mind and went with Two litre Mercury outboards. Renamed it PINCH and painted it yellow
