Have to tell you Gene—— I have two layers of cashmere next to my skin—— in December three —— and once it’s down to freezing I put all four on—— I hate being cold. I see the motors back in it’s new frame, how far you off from flying?

One day Ian will be an old fart, but I hope to meet him later this month—— he has to be admired for his work on classic boats—— I know you—

His Son CHRISTIAN has done an unbelievable$$$ job of restoring Offshore boats--

— I know Keikhaefer Aeromarine 111 — I know Richie Powers—- I’ve actually ridden the .” Dry Martini” !

True story Jackie--1975 my body told me to RETIRE!!--But Richie had decided to race with the HAWAIANS--

I raced the season with the ITALIANS

Sorry Gene—- slip of the tongue—- I knew damn well Ian IS the “Patriarch” and Christian is his son.
One day hope to meet them both, we can sort out a few things anyway.
Jeff Hall has been instrumental in getting us together, but you know how it is Gene—- trying to find time is my big problem——- ever since I retired 37 years ago, there seems to be a distinct shortage of the stuff! ——- I just stepped out of the boat in Paris and told Mark he could have it—— “I’m done”—- that was it——- never boarded a race boat again—— that was 1979 !

Money was always good with the Italians—— only the rich Italians raced—- remember Pruett coming to Como in the Maserati—- taking me down to the airport —— most ridiculous ride I ever had in my life!

Have three of the Silver Ghost’s fully upholstered in the “Chesterfield” style—- it’s kinda brought the cars together—— bit of class—- dogs bollocks doncha know.
First three are Sam ( my daughter)——- Gary Stray ( RATBAG), Scotty B (Friend) —- just leaves the last three, doubt if there will be any more as each one takes me a month to construct!

Not much happening here this week——- rains just as wet as it ever was, and we do have more than our fair share this last week !
Maybe something more interesting will happen later in the day—— just don’t hold your breath.

They just finished testing the new 32’ Fountain Cat, I don’t have any pictures—- but I presume they’re a couple of biggish Mercs on the tail.
Thats the trouble with growing old—— can’t keep quiet—— so you don’t get told anything—- but still get a bollocking for what you might have said if you never knew anything in the first FECKIN place-xx DONT worry about it —— it’s a getting old thing !

[/QUOT My grandson Craig has proved to be a real designer of hi speed boats AND a real clever dick with new carbon composites. He went out to Germany with another grandson of mine Simon who just happens to be a genius on CAM designing .
Anyway, fact of the matter is—— WCC are now designing hi speed craft for some of the most elite names in the powerboating world.
Me, they don’t tell me much these days——- got this habit of running off at the mouth with anything my kids and grandkids produce——- it’s a little thing called “PRIDE”—— I have it in huge quantities—- but it can be a curse sometimes!
