Stop trying to tame the strange ideas in your head Jackie. Everyone knows there’s no hope for that. Besides the creativity might go out the window if you weren’t so strange. All the criticism is in good fun

ok Charlie , let me tell you about how it all happened !
Been looking around for a while for another toy — bikes i used to ride [1949 triumphspeed twin] command prices in excess of £10,000 ——well that ain’t never going to happen !!!!
Many years ago when i was visiting Cadillac at BYBLOS he showed me his favourite toy—the FIREBIRD
ALWAYS THOUGHT I MIGHT LIKE ONE .
Did the research —bought the comics —eBay and all that crap . One particular one kinda jumped out at me . 1998. so its already 24 years old —next year it’s VINTAGE [thats when the price starts to rise]. Two owners from new ——23,000 miles ——full service history. Ticked all the boxes .
After i turned on the charm and the WILSON sales chat the poor guy had absolutely NO CHANCE !!
    He was mine.
He delivered the bike half an hour late which meant he was already on the back foot. Stood the bike up and proceeded to disrobe the padded Kevlar protective gear. Darth Vader helmet and pants with the knee and arse protectors. „“anywhere i can dump these“. he says ? Just leave them in the corner says i all kinda nonchalant .
You wanna buy a helmet —he asks . Not particularly i says a bit too flippantly . What you asking—- Fifty quid —— I’ll take it at forty.
Turns out the guy has just turned 70 and has decided his two wheel days are done for good .
So you see, it turns out i am all kitted out correctly should i decide to travel on two wheels at all.
Many years ago my father said to me something i have never forgotten.Motorbikes are perfectly safe —until you forget to remember they are bloody dangerous.

My last ownership of a Bike was a few decades ago.

When my Dad was still alive, he got on my motorcycle to go visit a couple of Mercury dealerships an hour away from the house. It was his first time on this bike, and I told him as he was leaving his house, Check the Brakes.

And he did apply the brakes on the street in front of the house. Because safety was on my mind, and I wanted him to be familiar with the braking at any speed.

Told you it was nice —-rides as good as it looks , but its a a tad too much like a racer —may have to swop it for a more sedate ride . Something like a biggish BEEMER . Early days yet . Good to feel like a kid again and its a bloody long time since i donned a lid.

Only you Jackie can tell a tale that captures the heart. I was people just go out and buy a motorcycle. But your description of the transaction is verseAnd dammit you must write that book I have the rest of your adventures. I had my motorcycle. Back in the days as I have described to you probably not in as much detail as we could communicate but it was a fun time along time ago. I’m only 73 and I have trouble riding my tricycles . They don’t have motors I harness my poor son’s dog help me down the street at A sedate pace except for when she sees a cat she wants to chase then it’s off on an adventure through the neighbors hedges and anything else that gets in the way. Maybe I’ll have to buy that helmet off you. And as your father said they can be bloody dangerous so be careful. Charlie o

Old “Hurry Up“ died a while back and you know what, i don‘t even miss him !!!!!!
Seems like i was always chasing my own tail. Never enough time for anything —hells teeth, i am the originator of the „“QUICKIE“ !!!!!!!
i would like to tell you things have settled down but i would be lying. As you reach the last bend on the helter skelter of life —you reach breakneck speed before being launched into cyber space. Jesus wept they moved the goal posts —its not even ETERNITY any more.
After rolling along in top gear for most of my life , i finally switched to OVERDRIVE. Thats because i have to travel further on the same amount of gas and the distance i have to travel has been extended before i reach my destination.
Today is the day of reckoning. I get to know if my work is acceptable or not !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Miles Jennings is coming to see if i am travelling in the right direction to suit his needs . He wanted a trophy he could present to the offshore world. I guaranteed him one of the best trophies in boat racing.
Me and my feckin mouth. Sainted mother always said it would get me into trouble one day—-just hope this is not the one!!!!!!
THE HARMSWORTH is THE class trophy in boat racing. It is also given to all forms of boat racing and achievement . KEITH DUCKWORTH was one of the recipients for his outstanding work on THE COSWORTH.
My son Mark was on the winning team that won the trophy on another occasion, so not much to live up to EH. !!!!!!!!!!!!!
