Jackie I think we may be happier if you kept away from sharp objects you have history in that department. The Health Service is under enough strain as it is ...tell us how the book is coming along, have you thought of a title yet?..Don’t forget to mention Brian Hunt. Will there be a pictures of pretty girls (asking on behalf of a friend).....

Photo department is partly up and running, managed to get just one phoggie posted.
Thats the draw knife i found in Eddies barn. Hasn’t been touched in fifty years.
Next time you see it , damn thing will be like a surgeons scalpel.
Problem being, there’s o more than a handful of folk could even tell you what it is, let alone use it with a modicum of skill . But if you can skin the fluff of a peach without breaking skin, then you qualify.

Often thought about it but have no idea of how to go about it Pilgrim. Also thought about doing a car boot sale, but the only reason anyone visits a car boot sale is to buy cheap junk even cheaper and hope you find a long lost treasure !
They tell me the dot-dotis the only way to sell anything these days. Probably should talk to one of my smarter grandkids and seek their helpClick image for larger version.

Picked this up at the car boot sale yesterday, i have never seen one before. Was expensive, but looks it just sat on the table. Reeks opulence.

Jackie: These youngsters don't know nothing these days. I guess if it don't have a motor, what is it? Are you going to clean up the spoke shave/draw knife?

A lot of grinding & sharpening to get that knife back in wood working condition.
Isn't the problem with a draw knife, is the blade is facing toward you when you work with it?

"Skin the fluff." I was thinking it was more useful slicing a peach.

I found three of them hung on a nail in Eddies barn. They had hung there unused for between thirty five and fifty five years. I spent the weekend bringing them back to life , Needs another few days to restore.
One of them is very rare indeed, thought i might give it to Cadillac, he restores vintage wooden raceboats. I could maybe give him a few pointers. Hell of a thing to send through U>S> customs as a gift. Might be a problem.

My eldest grand daughter Louise and her husband Gary ( RATBAG) STRAY live in Stuart also, They are moving the GIECO operation up from Jupiter to new premises also in Stuart.
How times have changed. From being part of the mighty OMC organisation, to total obscurity in just a few decades .
I take no joy in the fact that Evinrude has descended into obscurity and into the annals of American history.
I hope someone puts a monument up somewhere to commemorate the fact that Ole Evinrude was here!
    Which came first,
Frances' Outrigger Resort and then Ralph found his new bride to be there, or
Ralph Evinrude married Frances Langford, and they built the Outrigger for the singer (ex actress)?

In the Stuart, Florida area Ralph finds himself a wife, and a location for an OMC facility.
And his contemporary Mr. K, finds only rural Lake X with gators and guys with grease on their hands.
Albeit both Ralph and Mr. K, found fulfillment in Florida.

...francis was born & raised in florida. enjoyed the florida outdoor life & boating & fishing long before ralph came along. did not mind getting her hands dirty. she was taught that thats what soap & water was for. she bought & owned large pieces of jensen beach land years before marrying evinrude. you have to understand though, that the jensen/stuart area was a very backwater, affordable area in the early years. nothing like it is today.
