Our rev limiter is @ 8500 regardless if it's in break in mode or not. Our first year with this motor we broke a piston skirt at about 45 hr. And then we find out you need to replace them every 40 hr. We seen no sign of over oiling. Maybe the opti becomes a hole new engine @8500 rpms. So maybe I'm in the wrong thread. Is there a opti racing thread?

Failure on number 6 is often a cold seize. 6 is the first cylinder to get the cold cooling water and if you get a thermostat hung open bad things happen.

Optis do not limit power when they are in break in. The only limitation would be from the extra oil causing it to run rich. The DFI oil will make it last longer than the Premium Plus.

Correct me if I'm wrong. I don't see how it can run rich when the oil never mixes with the gas.

It doesen't. But the crankcase compression pushes it through the transfer ports. That's why they smoke more and carbon the plugs during break in. I don't think it would effect performance much if at all.
