did eliminator make a 20' in 1988?
I just answered an ad for a 19' 1987 eliminator that turned out to be a 20' 4" 1988. Coast guard plate shows model number 20SCOP. Any west coast guys here that can tell me anything about that model number? I wasn't aware of eliminator ever making a 20' but I was a pup in 88'. Any info would make my week. thanks (I bought the boat, nice n solid, titled as a 20')

It looks like a Scorpion.
Eliminator did make it for a little bit but then there was some litigation and they stopped. If you do a search on Scorpion here you'll probably find the info.
I'm pretty sure the Rapid Craft Riot is based on the same hull.Last edited by Onetime; 12-05-2013 at 12:53 AM.

Rapid craft is a lil different, that def looks like a scorpion then advantage made a hull called the banshee which is a splash or copy of the scorpion. Eliminator also made a 20' vhull called the liberty.

If that's an '88 Scorpion from Eliminator in Wisconsin, it would be the same hull as a Rapid Craft Riot. My Dad redesigned the hull for the Scorpion while he worked at Eliminator in Shawano, WI during that era. I can't quite tell from the pics. If the transom is notched, then that would be a Shawano hull. I'm guessing it's not though based on the drain hole locations. But if that's an Eliminator (as mentioned before, the Advantage Banshee looks almost identical) then it's a Scorpion.

thanks, yeah that's a 5 cylinder (lmao) 3.4. repower is part of the build. anyone need any 3.4 parts? bob-coned 20"lower, etc. well everything behind the lift plate besides the hydraulic steering is getting parted out. as far as the Shawano plant.... how could I tell the difference?, I wouldn't mind finding out where the boat was built and eliminator hasn't responded to any email at all. the boat was quick with the cosworth. I haven't checked in a few years but pistons/sleeves/rings are still non existent for the 3.4 right?

Like Sam said, All you gotta do is look at the bottom of the transom. Notched=Shawano built. Non notch=Cali built.
