Allison XB2002 setup
Okay, time to setup my hull correctly. I have a 1994 XB2002 Comp. I converted it from a center steer/ sm console to a side steer/ large console. I play without a trolling motor, and when I fish, the boat is setup with a light OMC trolled (you know the one a lot of Ally/Bullets run). I have two jack plates, a fixed 4" and a 6" rapid jack. I run a bunch of different props, mainly 24" drag and et 3 & 4 blades, as well as a 30 et for top end duty.
How would you set it up?

For fishing. Running with a 250# driver, 175# co fisher, about ten rods and a few tackle boxes (say 75# of total tackle). Full tank of gas and full live well of water ( and hopefully fish). Trolling motor and two big trolling motor batteries.

For speed. One driver 250#, no trolling motor/batteries, dry live well, 1/2-1/4 tank of gas.

We will also need to know what engine and lower unit you are running as well as if the lip on the pad is stock or not.

I always run my cranking battery in the port rear compartment. I also usually have all my tackle in that compartment, and anything else that will fit. I don't have as much stuff as you though. When I fish with someone else I usually put an additional battery in the same compartment, and move some of my tackle to the other side. I put my buddy behind me in the center. It makes it a lot easier to get up and down while fishing, and his weight doesn't affect the balance too much. If I were going to run 2 troller batteries I would put both in the center compartment, or one in the center and one on the port side. The balance usually is pretty close when I switch from one setup to another, but I'm still always moving stuff around to fine tune it.

How does it run now? Sounds like you are close on everything. Tweak a little bit here & there as you go.
10" to 12" is common. Even or above a little is common too.
I have 12" setback and probably 1/4 above. It does everything nice with most of the props I have tried.
Both batteries are in from of the gas tank.
