    That's a great looking engine. I had a Johnson Stinger KC13R 4BBL.

the pictures were taken a few years ago in Minnesota at a TCPBA race in Little Falls. I think the boat was raced by Baker Marine. I was not sure if the motor was original or pieced together, but cool looking no less.

cant say but mid and lower is not from the same engine nor a Strangler
The mid at first glance is either a CCC mid or a F1 V8 and its joined to production transom assembly

Powerabout is correct. 140 powerhead, modified, with Merc V6 carbs and custom intake, CCC centersection, production clamp and swivel, production gearcase with cone. The only thing Super Strangler is the hood.

Curious, is 258lbs the weight of the "race" Super Strangler/Stinger GP 1972-1975 or was that weight for a standard 135 Strangler?

Gotcha, I thought that JWTjr was saying he had restored a "true" 1972 8 pumper Super Strangler with all the goodies, and then went ahead and weighed the whole thing. I had heard that the Super Strangler/Stinger GP was a very light motor. 258lbs would have been incredibly light for a motor that had forward, reverse, and trim, race or not!
