Original gel coat (no paint), boat is solid, Have owned it since 1995 (2nd owner). Just got a XR2001.

The pad is a little wider on the 2002. From my experience, the 2002 is easier to drive. The 2001 seems to be more sensitive to steering movements.
This 2002 started out with a 2.4 ModVP motor. Then a stock 2.5 260. Then a 2.5 300 Drag. Then a 90 shot of juice on the Drag. Boat was set up for short course drags (800-1000'), but also lake cruising.
We estimated the hull weight at about 550.
2002 drives like on a rail @ 100.

Wood transom? Has there ever been any core work or transom update done?

The only repair is under the drivers seat where a 325# driver ripped it out. Was repaired right.

The rest of the hull is 'factory'.

Was originally a 'side by side', but converted to tandem in 1996.
