Nice trailer, but I would HIGHLY recommend taking it back and having lateral/ horizontal supports welded between your uprights at the top AND bottom . All that needs to be boxed in….. One good bump on a high speed on / off ramp and that thing is likely to fold over…. They didn't even put any kind of gussets on it and those stanchions are tall! Skaters don't look good sitting on asphalt

I second that I have an aluminum trailer for my 38' fountain and everything is bolted together like yours except the bunks are bolted on and then it has like 3x12 beams for the bunks and I have had the beams split to where I put aluminum supports on each side of the beam to hold them together. Of course I corner way to fast in just about everything but it want take much for those uprights to fold over.

Your saying to weld more aluminum on top of the aluminum that is already welded?? I'm a little confused.

I think they are saying to connect the bunks at the top and then put in a X brace from top of one bunk to the bottom of the other one and do this in two or three spots. This will box it in so it want fold over. And then put in a brace from top to bottom in X fashion on each individual bunk to keep it from folding up frontwards or backwards.

Would it suffice if I just added L brackets to each side of the uprights? When I ordered the trailer to be made, he asked me if I wanted the uprights welded or bolted. I assumed welded was better. But if I need more support maybe I will just add the brackets too, and have the best of both worlds.

And what are gussets and where should they be?

NO L brackets want cut it. Take it back and have him put in X brace from side to side (at least 2 spots) and maybe X brace from front to back in 2 spots (one each side). Or just ask him what he would do if it was his trailer and if he says nothing then load it up and take it to a real trailer builder. Its not like its sitting on the frame of the trailer your 2-3 foot in the air and that is leverage then you add in side load on top of the leverage and banzinga over it folds on top of your trailer fenders.
