Removing decals/stickers from Johnson Cover.
I am going to be removing the original 1981 Johnson decals/stickers from my motor cover and replace with new ones. From searching on this site I have decided to use a heat gun to remove and then use WD-40 to remove any left over glue or adhesive as not to damage the paint.
Here is a spare cover I am going to practice on.
Any suggestions or ideas most welcomed.
Regards.

I'm pretty sure the "paint" under the decals is gel coat, which solvents typically will not damage. I could be wrong...

Use an eraser wheel. They can be purchased at an auto body supply store. Run it on a drill at slow speed.
