Anyone ever put an Outboard on these?

Ive always thought Eagle Marines river race tunnels would be an Awsome hull to mount an outboard on. There All aluminum and super nice looking minus roll bar. they have gone 140mph with a single engine. Anyone ever see one with an outboard?

The tunnels alot like a Stoker. They are very light. 600-700 lbs I think.

OR turbines!! Thats what the real fast guys use. Even if you could get one to do 110 with a 300xs that would work. I was a buddys shop with two of these today talking to him about it. He can 100 with 550hp in race trim. He said an outboard would work but never heard of anyone trying. he said it takes so much time to build one that no one will just build ya a bare hull with outboard stern. You would have to buy a race boat and weld up the intake and bowl and go from there. It would be an interesting project. He said his race hull like this one is 400-450lbs bare!!!!
Heres a clip of a turbine tunnel practicing on a lake. Pretty cool. The wings in the bow are like power trim. They are actuated with an electric button up down just like our outboards. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DlCGiq1ymKw

Ill come down and we can go halfers on one rig her up with an outboard and see how she does. If its awsome we know and we sell her and do it again but this time we get one each. We start a company and right off all the experimental costs.

Hey whipper thanks for the link! I love 2 strokes but after watching that I would LOVE to have a rig on the lake that sounds like a fighter jet. Now theres another toy to work for! Gary

Those are very badass boats for sure, but only for what they're designed for imo. Those GE T-58 turbines are putting out right around 1,250hp - without water injection. So running 140 in a boat that small/light with that much hp is not that impressive (the jet guys at the drags damn near do that in the 1/4 mile with the same hp). Hell, Howard's 32 Skater went that fast with one of those same exact turbines back in the '80s! I would definitely be interested to see you guys build one with outboard power, but I think the design of that boat would lend itself much better to a single inboard with an Arneson drive behind it. I bet a single 800hp naturally aspirated BBC would push that boat the same speed (140) with an Arneson on the back of it.

I've always thought there were an awful lot of jet boat hulls that were sexy as hell. I've often wondered how some of them would perform with an outboard. They all seem to be sleek and low, just begging for an outboard, but 1000 hp, would be hard to make with a 2 stroke single. I think.
