Very well put Lockjaw. By any chance do you happen to remember what Paul Nichols ran in his 17' with a 280 on it. All I can remember is it was triple digits.... Been a few years and I just can't remember

i stand corrected. It wasn't a 17' with a 280 it was a 20' with a 300X and it wasn't official. Only had the on board GPS to verify the 119 mph run. Also a very interesting fact on the ally run ...all official records are a 2way average. The ally actually went 122 and change on one pass. Mr Shook was definaty hooked up.

You'd think having gotten a boat set up this well the owner or even a person that bought it would want to keep it together. I know if it were mine I would. Just thinking out loud folks...................

I do remember a triple digit 19 footer but it was just barely over 100 and i am guessing this is the same boat. I do not believe it ever went 113.

As for the Ranger. hmmm...this one is tricky because a 340V set up right with big power could very well break 100mph. They were over 80mph with a 200 and mid 70s with a GT150. So set up right with the right guy driving it it could very well be a true 100mph sleeper. Wouldn't you hate to get passed by a Ranger.

Paul's Bullet was a 17VEE and it had a modded 300 drag on it. He made several passes over 120 with it. For the record runs it was a 20CC. He also had a 20CC Super Comp with a 300X on it that ran way over 100.

You should see his WSP boat now. All black, a CC Bullet and I don't remember what he told me the motor would turn to.

No I don't, I kinda want to say 117 for some reason. I really like Paul, he did all the machine work and assembly on my little frankeneagle motor. Anyone I run into down around here with a merc issue, I send them Paul's way. He built a 225 pm for a guy in my fishing club, its on a 20 foot CC bullet, and man that sucker gets DOWN!!! I always kid him and call him Top Fuel. It sounds sweet.

Lockjaw u ain't talkin bout Kurt Lytle I think is his last name. The yellow n blue or purple Stroker with a lil ole 300 on it are u. You can watch that one do 109 n change on YouTube and then sling a blade on the next pass
I remember Paul running a 117 and a 119 but I can't tell you for a fact which boat did what. When it comes to setting up a Bullet Paul is king. BAR none.

Don't remember what year, have to think '96 or '97, we did a project at Lake X with Champion. Biggest thing they had (20 or 21 foot) and slung a pair of 200's on the back - think stock Efi's. Made three of them for some Japanese customers - boats were not staying in the states. Our bogey was to get them over a buck, which we did - like 102-103 range. They were dogs to get on plane, but then they ran on up from there. Don't think I have a pix, but will try to get one from a fellow that worked on the project - pictures at Lake X of anything was big time taboo -

You are talking Kurt Moerer, his Yellow Stroker went 109. There was a guy whose last name was Hoffman that showed up with a HydroTech Yammie hanging off the back of a stroker and it ran like 113. White Knuckles is a boat that Brent Chapman who has the Lanier Custom Cat and another guy had Chub build. Its white, center console, and has a 300 on the back and I think it has run 117 or 118. It is more like a bay boat, no carpet, it has that textured flooring and lids. See ===> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bM8KfLgFmtU
There is actually a video showing 121+, but I can't see the GPS good enough. But that is a guy who posts here regular, its no joke.

That had one of those in B&WB magazine. Some older guy had one, with 2 counter rotating Merc 200's on the back. I think he claimed similar spends, but I thought they were kinda out of reach given the claimed MPH and the prop pitch. Maybe if he had 1.62 gears, but they never talked about that, and I have a hard time believing it would holeshot very well with those gears and the drag of 2 lowers.
