Rare bass boats
Anyone ever hear of a line of boats called "Swift"? Supposedly hand laid one at a time by Wilson fiberglas, on bull shoals lake, he was the nephew of Forrest Woods from ranger boats. Built them for four years or so from what I gather, there is just not alot of info about them and I've never seen another. I own a 93' model 495 and its fairly quick pretty light and rides like a dream. I'm kind of wondering how many were made?

No need for BBC. The swift bass boat didnt make it big for some reason. That I don't know. Yes they are a hand laid boat and when setup right like the one I drove will run like a raped ape as in giving a Bullet a run for the money

Craig Alstott here owns an STV bassboat. Do a search. I think there were only two made?

I should have also said they love the big block Mercs. I almost bought this one that I run. Also know where there is another in NorthArkansas that really flies with a 250 XB

I've seen a few of those Swift bassboats around but I couldn't tell you anything about them. About the STV bassboat I'm pretty sure that they were the same as the Laser LTV bassboat and lakeraider said I think there were only 2 that had the STV badges.

I used to own the boat that he is speaking about. 20.5' with 200HP Evinrude. Correctly propped and empty the boat would run upper 70s by GPS. Bullet and Allison were the only things that would run with it, and soft and stable at any speed.
Gary Wilson was the founder/owner of the company. He worked for Ranger and Nitro both and designed the step hull that they built for ages. He gave me 3 reasons for starting Swift. 1) they would never let him build a fast hull. 2) they would never let him build a soft riding hull, 3) you never get rich working for somebody else.
Their bigger end was their shallow draft deck boat and were making huge inroads into the bass boat world in the early 90s, but Tragically, Gary died in a stunt plane crash in the mid 90s.
If you want a fast, soft riding boat and can find one of these in good shape, you really ought to buy it.

It is basically an 18' boat with enough nose to be rated for 200hp.
