    John Henry Price

Hey my name is James Price and my dad is John Henry. Tonight he was showing my brother and I some old racing pics. Does anyone out there have any pictures or videos with him in it? We'd sure appreciate them!
    Thanks!

Isn't John Henry Price the guy who wound up with the " BIGJOB" McCall? The boat that John built for Mercury for Jeff Titus to run a twin engine boat at Havasu ?

I raced in one of his old Allisons..a 16' vee with twin 1000's...Got the boat from White's Marine in Cleveland, Tenn. (Engines came courtesy of Mercury). He had his name painted in big letters in gold leaf on the deck. Hate to admit, but I removed the name "Price" and called the boat "John Henry".... What can I say?...Cash was short and the name he had painted on the boat "Gitty up Go" didn't grab me.... I know he later raced in some pretty serious multihulls.

Yeah I can see why you changed the named! If you know him very well, it won't come as a shock that he hasn't really talked about his past to us. He's got a few plaques on the wall and a couple of pictures of the "El Lobo" boat and the "Stars and Stripes" but that's really all we know. He was telling us about his races at Lake Havasu the other night.

Ask your Daddy what ever happened to the 'El Lobo'?? He and George Thompson had that boat running pretty good with the Chrysler stackers----

Could this be 'El Lobo' with a fancy paint job? And John Henry Price?

Yes, John Henry ran the big McCall twin at Havasu, I think it was in 1970. Here it is parked at our rented house (Team HQ) now dressed in stars & stripes.....

No----the boat carried fuel for 3+ hours. Same setup at Parker. Performance was less than stunning with 600 pounds of fuel----

Gene, how many mph would you usually pick up going full fuel to low fuel on a marathon boat. 10-12 mph in some rigs?
    Thanks-

??Sounds about right----the big problem in the Wing----especially downwind----was accelerating to a speed that the boat could fly---
