I was able to paint the strips on the cowls this weekend. I will start on the trailer bunks and getting the inside done this week.

Willabee: Yes I moonlight at night painting drive shaft housings. Still not very good at it. That is how I have been able to keep my job here all these years.

The paint job is not a Jack Ferris masterpiece but it will have to do.

When I put the cowls on the boat it really brought back memorys from a long time ago.

    Tiix

The trailer is done and I had our exhibits department move the TIIX to our shop. I hope to move the boat to Fond du Lac the week after Thanksgiving.

When was the last time you saw a new out of the box TIIX? If I remember right this engine only has test tank time on it.

    Rich: You are sooooooo, right.

The steering is rebuilt, painted and installed. It is unique in that is was custom built for the Twistercraft. Next week it goes to the sign shop then finish rigging it with the engine.

The boat went to the sign shop yesterday for the graphics and should be ready to rig on Friday.

It still looks awfully small...but low lift worked wonders.... Looking forward to the completion...now we need a picture of Bill Seebold standing beside her. Both of them have aged well, but make sure he doesn't have a golf club in his hands for the photo.

P.S. I hope you don't mind that I swiped one of your photos for my new Avatar?

I take back all I ever teased about you trading boat racing for airplanes !
What a great restore, can't wait to see the finished product.
It would be too cool to be part of Merc's 75th !!

I'm hoping that Billy will come up when this thing kicks off. We have talked a little about it. I know it will be hard to get him off the golf course. You are right it seems small but that is the way I remember it too. Thus the name "Little Red".

The picture looks good, those six carbs staring at you, I'm glad you're using it.

Thanks Lynn: You probably have known me the longest here but you are wrong I never traded boat racing for planes I still think about both just about every day and have since I was just a kid. You can't get it out of your system. I just can't afford doing both.
