#571 and #573 boat look just right. When the Allison’s gets up dry on top of hi gear and starts rattlin’ on the pad it’s hard for another basser to keep up. Lot of good pics in this thread

Talk about on the pad!!! Can somebody please explain why we are not doing this kind of racing in america anymore? I would run these types of roundy rounds in a heartbeat. I wish the MVP races still were a thing. These V's are gettin it done

Rob,
We just need to get enough guys that are interested and we can start our own group. It wouldn't be a huge deal if you were able to piggy back with another race site/organization/event and add to their show. Tango was talking about starting a C.O.R.E. group for the South East coast and I told him that I would be very interested as well. If we could come up with 10 to 15 people and could agree on a simple "class rule set", the rest will fall into place with some group effort.

Agreed, Its apparent outboard drag racing is not as popular as it once was and the races each year are getting fewer and fewer. Most drag boats could easily convert set ups to this style oval racing. Not to mention the many beach racers we have in the scream and fly community. This could be something the average guy with a mirage, stv, action, stream, allison etc could give a try and maybe run a full season for points. I always love the idea of having a boat you could race one weekend and play at the local hot spot the next. Run what ya brung kind a thing. Of course pro classes with race set up hulls only but the Lake Racer class type of thing is what iv'e always liked. Maybe have an entry level class up to 225 hp and another 250 to 300 hp. Minimum weights per class like drag racing. The 4-5 boat per heat race could keep it safer. A south east circuit would be awesome with 5-8 races per season.

When Ron Baker and his wife were putitng on drag races here in Florida in the early 2000's with the F.B.I. (FAST BOATS INC) that's what they did as well as Dorsey Frabbot. Some of the race events we did were APBA region 5 events that we were umbrella'd under. There were sst class'es and some super sports as well. Problem is there really isnt a lot of those events in the south east anymore I don't think. Would be awesome to see something like this come together again.

Although impossible to keep anything grass roots, competition will eventually sanitize it but keep it that way for long as possible. That’s where the real fun of everything is, once the flood of rules and regulations comes in, the spirit of it all starts to fade
